Birds of a Feather
In 1854, Joel Palmer negotiated a treaty with the Kalapuya tribe to turn the Willamette Valley over to the United States, and the Josselin family began growing Pinot Noir in Champagne. Jill and Brian O’Donnell planted the first vines at Belle Pente 140 years later, and Gabriel Rucker opened Le Pigeon in Portland 12 years after that. Join us to help celebrate these parallel histories! Dinner prepared by Gabe and his team , paired with curated selections from Champagne Jean Josselin and Belle Pente, served al fresco at the top of the vineyard. Spectacular views, gorgeous sunsets. Gratuity included.

Wine Palate to Painter’s Palette
Most wine communication is the attempt to capture the sensual experience into the verbal abstractions of language. Patrick Reuter developed a system for translating this experience, by sketching and painting impressions through arrows to dignify acidity, half-moons representing fruit that drops off at the finish, puddles are overripe fruit, among so much more. Chef & Owner Jean-Jacques Chatelard of Bistro Maison will prepare his much loved cuisine. Evening includes a welcome reception with passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by a four-course dinner paired with Dominio IV. Enjoy an evening with Patrick as he guides you through your sketching and painting impressions. No experience necessary and sketchpads and colors provided.

We’ll begin with 3 comparative blind flights from Burgundy and the Willamette Valley. Dinner follows with James Beard Award winner and French Master Chef Philippe Boulot.
